I love travelling and Adelaide has such beautiful getaways within short distances.
Anja Jagsch has been designing and making jewellery for 8 years and has always appreciated the natural world from which she finds her inspiration.
Originally from Germany, Anja moved to Australia for love, and quickly found another love – our beautiful country. Her partner being a tour guide, they travelled extensively together exploring the countryside, the desert and the sea.
Today, travelling remains an integral part of Anja’s designing process. She collects the branches and flowers of Australian native flora on her travels and uses a technique called lost wax casting. Cast in silver, this technique captures the delicate details of each plant, which are then made into beautiful jewellery.
When interviewed, Anja was on another road trip around the NT and WA.
“Today I have sent my first collection of plants to my caster. Fingers crossed the pieces survive the trip. They will become really special jewellery pieces.”
Anja has been a regular in the Bowerbird lineup for some years. She loves the support South Australians give her and shows her support for her favourite designers during Bowerbird too.
“To shop at Bowerbird is really special to me, the products are thoughtful and unique.”
