Maggie Moy creates vibrant and colourful abstract paintings.
All original paintings on wood, canvas or paper are worked up over many weeks with multiple layers of paint, pastel and ink. Her use of line, texture and colour reflect the beauty she sees everywhere.
Her inspiration comes from multiple places, patterns in nature, landscapes, discarded pieces of detritus, decayed buildings and rusted objects.
Moy's paintings are never planned, they are channeled from an innate energy. She strives to portray a feeling of calm and beauty in her paintings. She hopes the viewer can see below the surface and find new places to explore within.
Moy studied at Adelaide Central School of Art and was awarded a Bachelor of Visual Art (Honours) in 2014.
