Grosgrain

Grosgrain started with my simple desire to wear a well-made wide-brimmed straw hat about a decade ago. The hunt led me to the hat factory operating over fifth generations near Tokyo (where I am from), in Kasukabe, where it has a long history of farming natural wheat straw and producing the items from it.

Soon I acknowledged their craftsmanship and dedication over 140 years; In collaboration, I started designing hats and selling them online. I named my small business after the classic ribbon for the hats, Grosgrain.

We also create woolen felt hats and, wool berets, and fabric caps perfect for wintery seasons. It has been my passion to create something beautiful and thoroughly hand-crafted and ethically, which brings joy to wear every day.
