Berserk blends humble scraps of vintage fabric with locally sourced textiles to produce garments of character and beauty. Our range is graded to fit real women and tested to withstand life, love and laundering. Frustration with fit and fads in clothing styles led designer, and patternmaker Karen Bjornenak to start designing for herself. The Berserk label has expanded and evolved since its inception in the early 2000's along with the designers skill set, experience (and changed body shape).
Berserk garments continue to reflect the makers love of natural fibres, vintage prints and instinctive colour palettes. Current ranges have a strong emphasis on sustainability in both the use of deadstock and vintage fabrics, and in avoiding trend based styling, to ensure longevity of the designs. After a career spent working in Melbourne's vibrant ragtrade and fashion scene the designer now lives near the sea in Geelong, and works from her home studio.
