Richard Paige is a fine leather goods company founded in 2016 by husband and wife-duo, Tom & Brit Schell. Every piece is hand-sewn with quality materials from leather purveyors around the world. They strive to create completely handmade and hand-sewn products in a simplistic & modern way, while still respecting the past.
Tom made his first bag in 2012 for his wife simply by picking up a few tools and a hide, and nothing has really changed. They mostly use what's called a saddle stitch, which is a stitch that can only be created by hand; this style of stitching far outlasts that on a machine and ensures a leather good that represents artisanal craft and will last for years.
They also produce on a made-to-order basis to ensure they are not contributing to excess waste, something that they are constantly striving to be mindful of. They source their leather from U.S and European tanneries and mindfully manufacture the bags in their studio in Adelaide, Australia.
